This machine allows you to determine which edited designs look pleasing through its large-size, 3.2” Sew Smart color LCD touch display.
The feature allows you to freely alter thread colors through its built-in color palette.

The jam-resistant brother bobbin helps you to view whether you are out of thread or anything.
This feature provides you a clear and clean stitch quality.

Easily resize, arc, or incline text with ease
This machine allows you to align your sewing designs without extra software required. It depends on what you like, could be on the hoop, rotate designs in 90°, 10°, and 1° increments, mirror image designs, resize designs, add more embroidery designs, and more.

What I Dislike

Dedicated embroidery-only machine
There are certain moments where I really need to switch to a literal sewing machine because the Brother PE-800 is only durable for embroidery and nothing else.

The machine will only work well with certain threads
This embroidery machine chooses the appropriate needle and thread to stitch the fabric correctly. The advanced needle threader isn’t always reliable
There are days where I need to realign my work to a correct position, so what I did was to continuously adjust my machine’s foot lever, and then did the same process all over again.
Positives
Has a large embroidery working area
It comes with exclusive features and abundant stitching designs
It has a unique colored LCD touchscreen in the size of a large screen
Fast and quick set up
You can insert your own designs from your flash drive since this machine has its own USB port
With just one click from your Brother PE-800’s screen, you can easily adjust your default settings such as the tension, measurements, speed, and so much more
It has a specialized built-in memory. Once you power it off and then turn back on, it will back up all your saved stitits alignment
Affordable
Negatives
Unlike other upgraded embroidery machines, this does not come with a cable
Features of this embroidery machine do not include digitizing software
This machine is only suitable for embroidery alone
Only work well with the choices of certain threads
The advanced needle threader of this sewing machine is not always guaranteed

The editing functionality allows you to make adjustments with the designs and even save it.
The machine enables you to adjust the needle positions and comes with a wide variety of sewing feet.

The LCD touch screen controls make it easier to switch between the different options.
The machine is beginner-friendly and comes with a free video tutorial CD.
The work area is well-lit and made in a way that casts a shadow on the work area.

Fairly lightweight for portability
Its lightweight feature makes it easier to bring on trips and has a built-in accessory compartment for your additional tools.

Seven standard presser feet
The machine includes seven standard presser feet: zipper foot, embroidery foot, monogramming foot, buttonhole foot, overcasting foot, button fitting foot, and blind stitch foot and supports generic presser feet, as well.

Affordability
It has a great deal for a price and covers a 25-year warranty.

Easy and Reliable Bobbin System
With its convenient bobbin winding system, the machine makes it easier and effortless to prepare jam-resistant bobbins.

What I Dislike

Wasted thread
The inconsistent needle threading wastes a lot of thread when it doesn’t work and creates a huge mess of knots. This is a huge disadvantage if you’re using expensive materials.

Difficulties sewing
The machine is not for heavy-duty use, therefore it had some difficulty in sewing through thick materials as well as seams. Needles also tend to break easily which can be disruptive to your work.

Not for Small Designs
The machine is not suitable to make small designs as it has difficulty doing fine details.
Positives
Multiple hoop function
Accessibility of transmitting design to machine
Updated Program
Structure is supported by a Durable and sturdy setting
Easy access of the speed control lever
Includes various accessories
Includes foot with underplate which results to refined buttonhole on various sheets of fabric
Digitized
Spacious area to work
Simplified usage
Best used for combined alterations
Modern looking machine, elegant yet sturdy

Negatives
The screen is only black and white
Has a limited hoop size.
Not a heavy-duty sewing machine
Can only pick 6 items at once despite the 67 built-in stitches
Needs to be cleaned on a regular basis due to the built-in sensors
Additional designs are not free.
The automatic thread cutter is sensitive to lint build-up
The pre-loaded designs are very basic and only just take too much space on the machine.

Who Should buy

With its versatility and ease of use, this is best for people working from home or those making small projects.
Dressmakers and tailors who mostly work with light fabrics are also recommended to buy this product as it has an easy and reliable bobbin system

What I Like

Design options
The Janome MB-4S comes with 50 built-in design options. The options will be sufficient enough to handle any type of project.
However, if you are wanting more options, you can create any design from scratch on your computer or you can edit any existing design and just import it to your sewing machine through the USB port.

Four-needle embroidery machine
The sewing machine comes with four needles. This allows you to work on four differently colored threads at the same time.
You can easily create a multi-colored embroidery design in less time. However, the four-needle machine can be a bit challenging for beginner sewists.

Large work area
The Janome MB-4S comes with a work area of 9.4″ x 7.9″ or 238mm x 200mm. The area is sufficient enough to work on large projects and huge designs.

Easy threading
The sewing machine does not come with an automatic needle threading feature. However, all you have to do is just follow the color-coded thread paths printed on the machine.
You can thread your needle perfectly in no-time. This is definitely as useful as the automatic threading function.

Customizable jump thread trimming
You can manage jump threading issues using the modifiable jump thread trimming function.

What I Dislike

Expensive
The sewing machine is quite expensive when compared to its competitors.
And you have to remember that this is an embroidery only machine. It can be worth it, but only if you are into extensive embroidery.

Presser’s foot
There is no provision for the presser foot to be lifted. It means you cannot really work on multiple layers or thick fabrics.

Required accessories missing
The Janome MB-4S doesn’t come with a “Remote Control Screen” and “Hat Embroidery Hoop”. These are essential accessories; unfortunately, you will have to shell out some extra bucks to get them.
Positives
High-speed stitching – 800 SPM
Plenty of built-in designs and fonts
Comes with 3MB of built-in memory
Not heavy-weight
Has the capacity to wind new bobbins whilst stitching
Customizable jump thread trimming
Automated thread cutter feature
Convenient work area
Negatives
Foot pressure cannot be adjusted
Can be used only in North America
Expensive
The needles provided are of inferior quality

Who Should buy

The Janome MB-4S is a real workhorse. The machine comes with features that are present in industrial sewing machines and a bunch of essential functions.
The price and lack of some basic accessories are downsides. However, if you have an embroidery business looking for an industrial-class embroidery machine, this is worth taking a look.
