Your bag is pretty, where did you buy it?
It’s my mom who made it.
Wow, your mom is so cool!
Hello, I’m Jessica,
mother of two young children and passionate about sewing and quilting for a little over 10 years.
The above conversation is from my little ⭐Stella⭐ and one of her friends after school, and as you can imagine, it is these kinds of compliments that make me proud and fulfilled in what I do.💞
From a very young age, I have cultivated this passion for the creative arts, whether through drawing, the making of pearl rings, necklaces and bracelets, then a little later with sewing and quilting. I saw it as a way to escape, to create and above all to please by offering my creations around me.
And it was a bit by chance, going to see a childhood friend, that I discovered the art of quilting. Her mum had some amazing books at home that she introduced me to, and it was at that moment that I fell in love with what later became a real passion.
But not everything was easy, especially in the beginning.
First I had to find a sewing shop not too far from where I live, which gives sewing lessons at accessible times (if you work and have young children, you know what I’m talking about), and where I feel comfortable with the teacher and the participants. And it was finally 40 miles away that I found it, where I learned the art and values of sewing and quilting, the conviviality, a real community in which I made real good friends of all ages.
Unfortunately, the shop has closed.
I continued on my own, buying fabrics online, making my own patterns and designs. I’ve made bumpers, blankets, cushions, original gifts not found on the market to offer my entourage… But also for me, by creating bags or all kinds of decorations, either for Christmas or for other occasions. There really is no limit.
The wish to pass on this passion.
With my daughter growing up, the desire to pass on this passion has become more and more important. Teach what I learned, share my experience and create an online community. So if you’re looking for information to improve your craft or looking for community to fuel you on your creative journey, I created this blog just for you!
And I hope that you will then come and tell me about the compliments you received about your latest creation. You will see how satisfying and enjoyable it is. You’ll become addicted to it! 😉
